Ayurveda comes from "Ayus" Life and "Veda" science, thus the science of life. According to Ayurveda, digestion is the cornerstone of health. Proper digestion nourishes the body. Eating the correct foods will make a big difference in our well being. There are two aspects related to the food and nutrition in Ayurveda. One is the physical food you eat and digest. The second factor is what you consume through the mind-body. What we observe, hear, taste, smell, touch, and think, are all essential elements for our well being and will impact our health considerably. In Ayurvedic philosophy, the five elements combine in pairs to form three dynamic forces or interactions called doshas. Using a diagnostic test we will determine your dosha: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. A balance among the tridosha is necessary for health. When their actions in our mind-body constitution are balanced, we experience psychological and physical wellness. Ayurveda aims to give guidelines for maintenance and promotion of health as well as for prevention and treatment of illnesses.
